How to calculate gravel
Multiply length × width × depth after converting depth to feet. Divide cubic feet by 27 for cubic yards.

A small depth change can significantly change the amount of stone required, so measure the planned finished depth carefully.
Cubic yards vs tons
Yards measure volume; tons measure weight. The estimate uses typical densities, but stone type, size, moisture, compaction, and supplier all affect actual tonnage.
